Artists for Humanity:
Events & News
An Events & News page has been published and added to AFH's website for AFH clients to view what events the organization has

We learned that users rarely visit the Artists for Humanity website for event or news information because they don’t know where to find it, and often leave within 5 minutes due to limited time and a preference for quick scrolling

Artists for Humanity (AFH) is a non-profit organization that hosts events such as Open Studio and The Greatest Party on Earth, as well as publishes articles for both internal and external audiences. Before the “Events & News” page was added to the website, people typically learned about AFH’s events through employees, by having attended one previously, or simply by living nearby. AFH now wants to expand its reach by encouraging more people to visit the website and attend its events. With the new page, visitors can easily explore upcoming events directly through the AFH website.

Final Prototype in detail

Increase the visibility of events and news by placing the Events & News cards on the homepage, allowing users to easily spot the latest updates as they scroll.
Combine events and news on a single page so users can view everything with one scroll. Provide a dropdown menu to filter and view different types of news.

-
Highlight the date using a prominent, to make it easily noticeable.
-
Place the event location next to the date so users can view all key details at a glance.
-
Include images showcasing past events or what attendees can experience at the Open Studio event to attract interest.
-
Add two back buttons—one at the top and one at the bottom of the page—so users can easily return to the previous page.
